Laud

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Psalm 95:6, 7

We are privileged to come together each week to be fed by God.  Sometimes people ask, “What is worship?”  Well, a good answer would be it is coming to be fed. For just as we come to our family’s table to be fed, we come to the Lord’s house to be fed.

At the family table we enjoy the company of those sitting around us.  It makes the dining experience more pleasurable.  The same is true for those in worship.

And the food we eat at the table gives us the energy our bodies need to go about our tasks and duties.  Well, in the worship service God speaks to us through His Word, that is, the Bible, and we respond back with faith as we sing the hymns and participate in the liturgy.  For our hymns and liturgy are God’s Word that is sung rather than read or spoken.  God’s Word gives us the strength and energy we need to go about our tasks and duties as Christians, that is being His hands, feet, and voice in our community and world.

Our worship is so important to us that we want all to take part in it.  And so besides our Sunday morning service at 10:30 am we also offer a Monday evening service at 7:00 pm that meets August-June (except on major Monday holidays).
